Strawberry Acai Smoothie

Hi! I’m Kristin (aka Kristabyte). My mission is to highlight…
This Strawberry acai smoothie is delicious, simple and comes together quickly! Just toss a frozen acai packet, strawberries, banana and nut milk into a blender for a refreshing and vitamin-packed smoothie.

USING FROZEN ACAI PACKETS
I was doing a little freezer foraging the other morning (to see what’s gotten buried over time) and stumbled on several frozen acai packets. Little packets like these always have a way of meandering to the very bottom, don’t they?
Usually, I’ll use these frozen acai packets to make my always popular acai bowl. Have you made one? Hint – you should.
But if I’m being honest, there are also days (usually when I’m pressed for time) when I just want to throw a couple of ingredients into my blender and be done.
Welcome to today’s acai smoothie. It’s a strawberry acai smoothie that only has 4 ingredients and literally takes 30 seconds to make. It’s cooling, refreshing, fruity and perfect for the summer months. (Or Spring when it bounces up to 85 degrees unexpectedly!)
Want a grab and go smoothie? It’s a nice breakfast alternative for those mornings when you just want to toss a handful of ingredients into your blender and head out the door.

Strawberry Acai Smoothie
If you’ve ever had Starbucks strawberry acai refresher, you know that these two berries go well together. But unfortunately for Starbucks, their “light” almost tea-like refresher is not so light as it’s got quite a bit of added sugar. 20 grams to be exact.
But you can easily replicate those flavors at home, in healthier smoothie form, with this strawberry acai smoothie.
I always choose unsweetened acai packs (which, for the record have zero sugar). You’ll have plenty of natural sugar from the banana and strawberries, so there’s no sense in adding more.
How to Make the Strawberry Acai Smoothie
So here’s what you do. Toss one acai pack into your high-powered blender along with one banana and one cup of strawberries (use fresh strawberries for a thinner smoothie or frozen strawberries for a thicker smoothie).
To that, add your favorite nut milk. I always use unsweetened almond milk from Trader Joe’s as it’s super creamy. Then, blend for 30 seconds. That’s it.
Feel free to get creative with add-ins, like collagen, maca and hemp seeds. Or you can keep it simple. For those mornings when simple and healthy is just what you need.
